Tomasz Lewandowski, PhD. Advocate. Senior Associate.
Data Protection Officer at SMM Legal, Mr. Lewandowski has a strong background in personal data protection law. An experienced specialist in the implementation of personal data protection systems in private corporations and public institutions, he provides clients with assistance in complying with personal data protection laws under relevant EU regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation.
In 2017 Mr. Lewandowski was conferred a doctoral degree in legal sciences. He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań with a double major in law (2013), and in administration (2011). As an Erasmus exchange student, he attended the Joint-Master Programme in International Law at Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnus.
In 2011 he completed the School of Foreign and International Service at the Faculty of Law and Administration of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.
Mr. Lewandowski has written over a dozen academic publications on constitutional law, human rights protection, public international law, and personal data protection and presented papers during international and national academic conferences. A judge in the Philip C. Jessup international law competition, he has trained student teams contending in moot court competitions.
Tomasz Lewandowski has been carrying out academic projects financed by the National Science Centre and the European Commission, often working with academic centres abroad.
He was awarded the Kulczyk Family Fund Scholarship (2013), and the Adam Mickiewicz University Foundation Scholarship (2014).
He works in English, speaks French and has a basic command of Lithuanian.
