We are proud to announce that, once again, SMM Legal was recognized as one of the top firms in the country by the most prestigious ranking of Polish law firms, compiled by Rzeczpospolita.
SMM Legal’s incessant focus on development throughout the year has pushed us up to the 12th place in Poland, by number of advocates and legal advisors. This achievement is matched by a giant leap in terms of the total number of our lawyers, taking us from the 18th to the 12th position.
2015 was a landmark year for our Firm as we moved our headquarters from Poznań to Warsaw. As Przemysław Maciak, Managing Partner at SMM Legal is right to note, “All the top transactions are executed in Warsaw, as this is where the largest companies do their business today.” The strategic decision to leave a portion of the team in Poznań also helped reduce the firm’s operating costs, creating a competitive advantage among the larger Warsaw-based law firms. This step is in line with the conclusions on the condition of the Polish market drawn by Ewa Usowicz, deputy editor of Rzeczpospolita: “Today, legal expertise is not enough. Business competence is equally, or maybe more desirable (…). You need to be able to foresee future risks, not only in the field of law, but also politics and economics.”
This year’s ranking proves that SMM Legal knows perfectly well how to keep up the pace in today’s changing environment.
