Sylwia Stępniewska-Idzior, New Partner at SMM Legal, takes up German Desk practice

In November, we welcomed a new Partner to our Firm – Ms. Sylwia Stępniewska-Idzior. Our expert is an attorney with over twenty years of experience in providing legal advisory to businesses, especially from German-speaking countries. She will put her expertise to practice by taking up the role of the Head of German Desk at SMM Legal.

For the last 13 years, Ms. Sylwia Stępniewska-Idzior has worked as the Head of Legal in companies of one of the leading EU and Polish producers in the food sector. She worked on investment projects worth hundreds of millions of euros. Applying trailblazing EU law-based ideas, she has participated in optimizing business solutions for an undertaking operating in a closed market, prepping it to safely enter and subsequently strengthen its position in the open market.

‘My experience in a large multinational corporation has taught me that Clients, apart from being assured of legal security, want they attorneys to act as partners in business discussions. Our work is not only about diligent drafting of contracts or procedures, but also assisting our Clients in setting development paths for their companies’, says our new Partner. ‘This is why at my work I help Clients optimise their internal processes, always based on an in-depth understanding of the intricacies of all their operations’, adds Ms. Stępniewska-Idzior.

‘Our new Partner will give a solid boost to our team’, comments Aleksander Czech, the other Managing Partner at SMM Legal. ‘We are really looking forward to our cooperation, especially in view of the common values and our shared work philosophy. Ms. Stępniewska-Idzior always starts with a business outlook  to then focus on law, just as our team’, adds Mr. Czech.

A significant aspect of our new Partner’s experience is her collaboration with foreign companies, especially those from the German-speaking countries. She combines the competence in the field of the Polish market with a thorough understanding of German-speaking investors’ expectations. In consequence, as the Head of German Desk, she will be helping foreign investors create and run businesses in Poland.

‘Polish market continues to offer underutilised opportunities for foreign investments, adds one of our Managing Partners, Przemysław Maciak. ‘Together with our new Partner, we hope to help our Clients discover its attractive potential’, adds Mr. Maciak.

We extend our warmest welcome to our new Partner. We are glad to have you on our team!
