PARTNER AT SMM LEGAL RAFAŁ SIKORSKI, PHD, RECEIVES PROFESSORSHIP AT ADAM MICKIEWICZ UNIVERSITY

We are honoured to announce that the Board of the Faculty of Law and Administration of Adam Mickiewicz University has awarded tenured professorship to Mr. Rafał Sikorski, PhD, Senior Partner at SMM Legal. 

Prof. Sikorski is an outstanding expert on intellectual property, and is recognised in Poland and abroad for his impressive research and numerous publications on copyright law, intellectual property law, unfair competition, competition law and private international law. Just last year he spoke at several prestigious international conferences, and is one of the few Polish experts among the distinguished specialists in this field. In October 2017, Prof. Sikorski spoke at the University in Wellington, New Zealand, presenting his lecture ‘Searching for Optimal Response to PAEs’ Excessive Enforcement Practices’ during the 36th Annual International Congress organised by the International Association for the Advancement of Teaching and Research in Intellectual Property (ATRIP). In March 2017 he participated as an expert in a seminar on claims under patents held at the University of Arizona in Phoenix within the international project focusing on the protection of patent rights – International Patent Remedies for Complex Products (INPRECOMP), a follow-up to the workshop that had taken place at King’s College in London in the autumn of the previous year. Still in March 2017, using means of remote communication, he participated in a conference at the National Law University of India in Bangalore, presenting a lecture entitled ‘Patent Law Injunctions in EU Law’. The conference attendees included judges of the Supreme Court in India and Indian academics.
