SMM Legal once again recognised in The Legal 500 EMEA 2026 ranking

We are proud to announce that the work of the SMM Legal team has once again been recognised in the prestigious The Legal 500 EMEA 2026 ranking. In this year’s edition, as many as seven of our practices were ranked, confirming the firm’s strong and stable position in the legal services market.

The ranking is based on independent research and client feedback, which makes the distinctions particularly meaningful. We regard the recommendations received as confirmation of the high standard of our services and a source of great satisfaction. We would like to thank our clients for their trust and for taking the time to share their experiences of working with our firm.

Awards received

In this year’s edition, SMM Legal was ranked in the Commercial, Corporate and M&A category, covering transactional and corporate advisory work. Individual recommendations in this category were awarded to advocate Prof. AMU, Maciej Mataczyński, PhD, advocate Mateusz Stańczyk and attorney-at-law Tomasz Jaranowski. The distinction confirms the high quality and consistency of the team’s work. The team was recognised for its involvement in large‑scale integrations in the energy sector, as well as for advising on strategic investment processes and ownership transformations.

The Construction category also retained its recommended status. This practice covers real estate‑related matters, sale and acquisition transactions, and advisory services in commercialisation processes. Individual recommendations in this area were awarded to attorney-at-law Aleksander Czech and legal and tax adviser Aldona Górska.

The experts of The Legal 500 EMEA 2026 also recognised the work of advocate Prof. AMU Maciej Mataczyński, PhD, advocate Mateusz Stańczyk and advocate Tomasz Lewandowski, PhD in the Capital Markets category. Client testimonials highlighted the broad scope of services provided and an individual approach to each matter. These factors translated into the team being described as exceptionally professional.

The firm was once again ranked in the area of court disputes. In the Dispute Resolution category, recommendations were awarded to SMM Legal’s managing partners: advocate Przemysław Maciak and attorney-at-law Aleksander Czech. The litigation practice was recognised for the team’s high level of expertise and the effective handling of complex disputes. Particular emphasis was placed on experience in advising clients from the energy, manufacturing, telecommunications and public sectors.

Advocate Paweł Łącki, PhD and Marcin Trupkiewicz, PhD were indicated as experts in the Energy and natural resources category. Clients pointed to the team’s practical approach and speed of response. These elements proved crucial in projects related to energy transition, renewable energy sources, and development and investment activities.

The Intellectual Property practice, led by advocate Prof. AMU Rafał Sikorski, PhD, was recognised for its broad, cross‑sector experience. The projects carried out covered, among others, the energy, research and development, telecommunications, banking and medical sectors.

In the Public procurement category, SMM Legal was recognised in the “Firm to watch” group, confirming the growing reputation of this practice. An individual recommendation was awarded to attorney-at-law Monika Adamczak, reflecting her many years of experience and the wide range of projects she has handled.
