On the 19th of March 2013 Rafał Sikorski, Ph.D., head of the Department of Intellectual Property Law, delivered a lecture entitled “Patent Pools. Evaluation of the functioning from the perspective of competition law” in the seat of the Polish Patent Office in Warsaw, at the invitation of the Polish Patent Office. The following subjects were raised during the : emergence of patent pools, disclosure of the technologies aggregated in patent pools, FRAND licensing standards etc. Employees of the Polish Patent Office, representatives of various legal professions (including patent attorneys, legal advisers and attorneys-at-law) and employees of the other central offices took part in the course.
